We’re thrilled to announce that Woolworths, in partnership with BrandLoyalty, is weaving the magic of Disney into its latest GECA certified collectible -releasing a collection of Fix-ems™ made from at least 80 per cent recycled material.
Certified under GECA’s Recycled Products standard, this new collectible is part of Woolworths’ continued commitment to growing towards a greener future.
New to the Australian market, Fix-ems™ are reusable woven patches that can be adhered to a vast range of surfaces (e.g. metal, glass, plastic, and coated cardboard or paper).
Not only does our Recycled Products standard specify minimum quantities of recycled materials by weight, but it also restricts specific treatments or coatings that would prevent further recycling. And, unlike other recycled-content products, GECA certified products must also meet criteria for a wide range of environmental issues, human health and social impacts while proving that they perform as promised. This means they’re a better choice for people and the planet!
Here’s a snapshot of the significant benefits of being certified under our standard:
From Wednesday, 6 July 2022, Woolworths customers in-store and online can collect 36 Fix-ems™ from the Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars franchises, including Minnie and Mickey Mouse, Lightning McQueen, Dory, Spider-Man, Groot, and Darth Vader™.
With every eligible $30 spent, customers will receive one Fix-em. Bonus Fix-ems™ will be received when participating products are purchased in an eligible $30 shop.
Fix-ems™ will also be able to be recycled in Woolworths’ stores thanks to a partnership with Save Our Soles (SOS). SOS will ensure the pre-loved Fix-ems™ are given new life and used to create mats or flooring.
GECA certification is a significant achievement as our ecolabel standards look at impacts across a product’s entire lifecycle, from the extraction of raw materials to the end of its life. Congratulations, Woolworths!
