Ralph Tonkin and Don Taylor met in 1956 when they both worked on the construction of the Auckland Harbour Bridge. In 1959, they formally established Tonkin + Taylor Consulting Engineers.
Today, Tonkin + Taylor is New Zealand’s leading environmental and engineering consultancy, with offices nationwide and in Australia, employing over 1,000 people. They have provided specialist environmental and engineering consulting services since 1959, focusing on geotechnical, civil and water resources engineering, environmental science and resource management.
Our three Assurance Providers are assessed, appointed, reviewed and reappointed by an independent panel of advisors known as the Independent Appointment Panel (IAP).
