New Zealand-based paint manufacturer Resene is in GECA’s Spotlight this week, thanks to its range of certified paints and coatings. The company helped introduce water-based paint to the local market in the 1950s, and was instrumental in removing lead from decorative paint products in the 1960s. It joined the Environmental Choice programme (NZ) in 1996 to further affirm its commitment to reducing environmental impacts.
After joining the Environmental Choice programme, Resene chose to focus on taking the strong, headache-inducing odours out of paint. This meant that users could paint interior surfaces and be able to use the room as soon as the paint was dry, rather than waiting for a few days while the odours disappeared. Resene still has no-VOC and low-VOC paint variants available.
