I am lucky to have just come back from two weeks in America, meeting with other like-minded organisations who are leaders in their field.
At Good Environmental Choice Australia we are keen to co-create and collaborate with other change makers here and overseas. Ultimately this is not only to learn and to lead, but to ensure that global initiatives are offered to our licensees here in Australia.
We know that those who have products certified with GECA are at the top of their game and we want to ensure that you stay that way.
Meetings with the Living Future Institute, The Sustainability Consortium and the Well Building institute were rewarding. It’s inspiring to know that there are other organisations holding strong to values and believing that best practice environmental and ethical products and buildings are possible – and they are not prepared to compromise. Together we are providing solutions across all aspects of the supply chain. So stay tuned as we continue to bring the value of these relationships to Australia.
One of the main reasons for my trip was to attend the SPLC Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council summit. This is where suppliers and procurement sustainability leaders come together from not only America, but across the world, in order to navigate a better way of doing things across all sectors.
It was inspiring and insightful. The biggest learning for me was to better understand what the demand side need from us to better communicate and evaluate the good that Good Environmental Choice Australia does.
We will be actively working with procurement officers in the next few months to contextualise this to Australia and ensure that our tick not only ticks all the boxes for you and procurers, but also continues to lead the way to a sustainable future for Australia and beyond.
