APCO’s Annual Awards are back, with applications for the 2023 awards closing soon. This year, the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) is embarking on an exciting new journey, with significant strategic changes designed to elevate the APCO Awards to new heights.

The APCO Annual Awards are open to the entire packaging industry for the first time. APCO believes that collaboration and knowledge sharing are crucial in driving positive change. By welcoming non-members, APCO aims to foster a culture of inclusivity and amplify the collective impact of sustainability efforts. This inclusive approach encourages organisations from all corners of the industry to participate and contribute to a sustainable packaging future.

As leaders in the space, we encourage our GECA licensees to participate in this transformation by submitting your entry and showcasing your organisation’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the packaging industry. Being recognised can enhance your credibility, boost your brand reputation, and showcase your dedication to sustainability.

    This year’s award categories include:

    • A Reuse Award
    • An Industry Education Award
    • A Consumer Education Award
    • An Improved Recycling System Award
    • A Sustainability Champion Award – for one individual
    • And more.

In 2023, APCO has also partnered with the Banksia Foundation to provide an independent judging panel comprising professionals across the packaging industry value chain. These experts will evaluate the entries based on predetermined criteria and select the most outstanding initiatives in each award category, with their diverse expertise and impartial perspective.

Applications close on 24 August 2023. Click here to apply today! APCO will announce the winners on Thursday, 2 November, at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney.

GECA is proud to be a founding partner of APCO’s Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Island Plastics Pact (ANZPAC).
