GECA is very pleased to announce its new Cleaning Products standard.
Replacing GECA 17-2007 Cleaning Products, the new standard GECA 17-2012 (available here), is the product of extensive revision. Among the changes are the inclusion of hand-dishwashing detergents and new criteria regarding palm oil, microorganisms, water emissions and waste minimisation. A comparative summary of the differences between the old and new standard is available to download here.
The revisions to this standard were made in conjunction with our stakeholder consultation group, followed by a period of public comment and we would like to thank all involved for their participation, diligence and industry insights.
Consumer Information
Along with the release of this standard, we’ve created a Comsumer Information page which provides you with some of the reasons why you might prefer to use GECA-certified cleaning products. We’ll be creating similar Consumer Information pages for our other standards over the next few weeks and these will be announced as they’re published.
If you have any technical questions regarding this standard, please contact our Standards and Technical Manager.
