More environmentally preferable products are likely to be available for consumers with a second well respected conformance assessment body (CAB), DLCS International, now accredited by JAS-ANZ to audit products for GECA certification.
Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is a not-for-profit organisation that runs the country’s only independent, transparent, rigorous and multi-sector ecolabel program. Under its Scheme Rules it requires those companies that assess products for certification (CABs) be accredited by JAS-ANZ. JAS-ANZ is the government-appointed accreditation body for Australia and New Zealand responsible for providing accreditation of CABs in the fields of certification and inspection.
