  • DesignBUILD draws to a close

    8 Feb 2014 2:00 am

DesignBUILD 2014 wrapped up last week at Melbourne’s Convention and Exhibition Centre after three days of showcasing the best from the building and construction industries. GECA was pleased to be a partner of the event.

There were plenty of visitors to the expo, with everyone from architects and specifiers to tradesmen and builders wandering through. As well as exhibiting in the middle of the exhibition as part of the Project Next display, GECA’s CEO joined an industry panel on ecolabelling. The well-attended event provided an opportunity to explain how GECA’s scheme works and the benefits of purchasing products that have been third party certified. The session was part of a broader sustainability day for the show, which was larger and better attended than the previous year.

Design Build will be on again in 2015 at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.

Here’s your chance to contribute to a good cause

Australian Living, in partnership with Diversified Exhibitions and Cundall, is arranging the donation of a classroom for kids in Cambodia. The goal is to build a structure using green and sustainable building materials and products, including green interior products. The build is planned to happen in September 2014.

Exhibitors inside and outside of the Project Next sustainability feature at last week’s DesignBUILD in Melbourne have kindly donated structure, flooring, insulation and other elements. These materials and products are being stored in Melbourne until they are a shipped to Cambodia. The aim is to fill the shipping container so if you or any of your partner suppliers or network are interested in donating products or services (they are also looking for volunteers to help with the build), please contact Anthony Lieberman at Australian Living on 0413 803 987 or anthony@australianliving.com.au
