  • Collaboration with Randwick City Council and our Licensees, brings a Sustainable House to the Eco-living Expo!

    24 Sep 2018 4:48 pm

On Sustainable House Day (16 Sept), GECA along with its licensees, collaborated with Randwick City Council to showcase their own Sustainable House at the Eco-Living Expo.

“The Eco-Living Expo is designed to be a place where people can make changes to their homes and lifestyles that will benefit the environment as well as their hip pocket,” said Randwick Mayor Lindsay Shurey.

The day included speakers such as Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, who shared innovations that can help us all invest in and improve the future; Craig Reucassel discussed the future of waste; and Erin Rhoads, aka The Rogue Ginger, discussed ways to achieve zero-waste living. All three participated in a panel to discuss what a sustainable future looks like, with plenty of audience participation during the Q&A segment.

Koskela furnished the house beautifully with many of their GECA certified products, Koala Mattresses provided a mattress made with GECA certified Dunlop Foams, Sustainable Living Fabrics provided material for us to make a fabric wall banner and the house also included cleaning products by Derivan, Healtheclean and KoH (Ekoworx)A big thanks to all of you!

We were also delighted to exhibit with our Materials In Mind pod, that many visited including Craig Reucassel from War on Waste!

Our pod provided visitors the opportunity to learn more about sustainable materials, what our ecolabel and standards cover, and importantly, where to find GECA certified products, for wherever they live, work and play.
