  • Australian Sustainability Conference & Exhibition highlights relationship between business and sustainability

    11 Oct 2013 10:41 am

The second annual Australian Sustainability Conference & Exhibition took place on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th October and was a thought-provoking and engaging event bringing together leading practitioners from around the country.

The Hon. Greg Hunt provided the opening address and spoke on the theme of turning vision to action. His address was the first major presentation outlining the government’s sustainability agenda.

GECA was pleased to team up with Sustainable Business Australia (SBA) and the Banksia Foundation as partners for the event.

GECA also had a stand at the accompanying exhibition and a special thanks goes to Zenith Interiors for providing GECA certified furniture.

GECA’s CEO Rupert Posner chaired two sessions: one on improving management and ethical performance along the supply chain, and the second on understanding the value of sustainability throughout the entire product lifecycle to the consumer.

“My belief is that more companies are doing more than ever before,” Posner said. “The amount of [customer] sophistication is higher than ever.”

Rupert was joined on the panel by a number of GECA licensee representatives including Amanda Keogh from Fuji Xerox and Michelle Kearney from Interstudio.
