We have shrunk down one of Koskela’s most popular products, the Jake chair, to make it available for primary school students.
We have renamed it Ngarang, in line with our commitment to use Aboriginal language words to name all the Learn by Koskela products. Ngarang is from the Dharug Aboriginal language and means junior.
Originally released in 2013, the Jake chair is a contemporary remake of the old-school cafeteria chair and it’s hard to resist its charms.
In a classroom context, the steel frame can be powder coated in any of the four Junior colours, which are inspired by the Australian landscape. The vibrant colours are uplifting and will stimulate the kids’ creativity.
The seat and back are whitewashed plywood. For an added layer of comfort, we have padded the seat and upholstered it in a commercial-grade fabric with added stain protection. Cushioned tushies help kids to sit still and stay focused for longer periods of time.
Ngarang is also stackable, which is essential for a smooth operating classroom.
For classrooms that still require a traditional chair, the Ngarang is a robust, playful and comfortable choice.
