Perrine & Gilles have transformed the anti-aesthetic practiceof covering a sofa with a throw into a work of art. This tradition was particularly prevalent on Spain’s Mediterranean coast and was crying out to be updated. From this experiment, a duo of sofa and chair were born. After a seemingly infinite amount of prototypes, we managed to cover the structure whilst respecting the volumes. As the cover is loose, it can be easily changed to create anew look. The coloured taping adds a touch of colour and marks the lines of the piece.

Sustainable furniture

When shopping for new furniture, it helps to know what to look for to ensure you’re buying a sustainable product. According to a Nielsen survey, 63 per cent of Asia-Pacific respondents check a product’s packaging to ensure a brand is committed to positive social and environmental impact. Evidence of third-party certification is the best way to check the sustainability credentials of a product. Read more about GECA's criteria for furniture in our info sheet.

What our clients say about us

Clients say it’s GECA or nothing. If you don’t have GECA certification it’s a negative. GECA certification is a priority for Haworth.

John Stamoulos
HAWORTH

GECA is seen by major clients across Australia and internationally to be a credible organisation that provides certification to forward thinking companies that seek to maintain and further environmental standards. Envirofluid is glad to be associated with the GECA label”.

Lydia Ohlmeyer, Marketing and Operations Manager
ENVIROFLUID

Being an environmentally aware business, we needed a way to ensure, adhere and implement sustainably preferable strategies into our business plan. The team at GECA is co-operative and their guidance ensured that we not only complied with green standards, but exceeded them. The process is credible and well-received in the market place and ensures that we are set apart from the not-so-genuine ‘greenwashing’ companies.

Donna McMullen, Director
DIRECT ERGONOMICS
