The 2023-24 year was a milestone for me as my first full year as CEO of GECA. It provided a unique opportunity to connect with our licensees, delve into various industry sectors, and uncover exciting opportunities ahead. These conversations reinforced the critical importance of our work and showcased the innovative ways our partners drive positive change.
This year, we’ve seen a growing body of evidence highlighting the clear business benefits of holistic sustainability. Businesses that integrate sustainability into their DNA consistently outperform their peers in sales, reputation, and staff engagement—pointing to better long-term outcomes.
At GECA, we stand apart as one of the few ecolabels requiring certified products and services to meet rigorous environmental and social sustainability criteria across their entire lifecycle. These findings validate our approach, and we’re proud to work alongside partners who share this commitment.
The longevity of our partnerships further underscores this alignment—nearly 50% of our licensees have been with us for over nine years! This enduring trust inspires us to continually push the boundaries of what holistic sustainability can achieve.
June 2024 marked another significant step forward with the approval of GECA’s new three-year strategic plan. This ambitious roadmap doubles down on delivering best-in-country certification approaches while exploring innovative ways to maximise our impact.
