Tower 8 is an exciting new development in Adelaide’s city centre precinct, which sits on the North Eastern corner of Franklin and Bentham Streets and acts as a southern gateway to the City Central Precinct.

Completed in September 2012, GECA licensee Studform was selected to complete the aluminium partitions, ornate commercial doors and washroom cubicle packages.

The $160m Tower 8 project is the third office building constructed by Baulderstone and the prestigious development houses the Australian Taxation Office as well as numerous governmental departments.

With a high focus on sustainability, Tower 8 achieves a 5 Star Green Star – Office Design v3 certification. The building boasts a number of green credentials including full height reflective glazing and sun-shades, passive chilled beam air-conditioning, high levels of natural daylight penetration and ventilation, storm water retention, water-efficient fixtures and fittings, and energy-efficient lighting designed to operate to a 4.5 star NABERS energy rating.

“Sustainability was a big focus for the building,” explains René Furlong, Executive Assistant at Studform. “Being a licensed contributor to the construction project we were able to meet and satisfy its requirements.

“Due to Studform having a GECA licence it helped with the specifying process and streamlined the requirements for Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) submissions as we have already been independently audited and licensed through the GECA system.”
