Jasol is the first GECA licensee to have its products certified under the new Machine Dishwashing Detergents 2013 standard. These products include the EC12 Warewashing Manual Dose Powder Detergent, EC15 Glass Wash Detergent, EC13 Automatic Warewashing Detergent and EC14 Automatic Warewashing Rinse Aid.
The standard applies to detergents (liquid and powder) and rinse aids intended for use in automatic dishwashers. It covers products under two different categories, depending on whether the product is intended for use in dishwashers with long cycles (such as domestic dishwashers) or short cycles (such as commercial dishwashers).
The revised standard was issued on 17 December 2013 and supersedes the previous Machine Dishwashing Detergents 2006 standard. It incorporates a variety of changes including new waste minimisation criteria and compulsory limits on sodium introduced to help prevent environmental salinity and the use of ‘fillers’.
