Plasterboard manufacturer CSR Gyprock has achieved another first for green building, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to sustainable manufacturing processes. Gyprock is proudly the first manufacturer to be accredited under GECA’s new Adhesives, Fillers and Sealants standard, released in September 2014.
The new standard was developed after recognising a need to enable customers in the building trade to identify environmentally and socially preferable compounds and sealants. The harsh chemicals contained in these products can potentially pose a threat to human health and indoor air quality and the new labelling assures quality products with a lower environmental and human health impact.
With the majority of its plasterboards and compounds certified by GECA, Gyprock offers a comprehensive range of products with third party green accreditation, which can contribute towards achieving points for projects being certified under the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star ratings scheme. The products comply with the new GECA standard without compromising on performance.
